The importance of Zakat is evident in the Qura’n as Allah associated it with prayer many times in to denote its great status:

"And observe prayer and pay Zakat and bow down with those who bow” (Al-Baqarah: 43)

“And be steadfast in prayer and pay Zakat, and whatever you anticipate for yourselves of good, you will find it good with Allah.” (Al-Baqarah: 110)

“Indeed, Your ally is Allah, His Messenger, and the believers, those who establish regular prayers and pay Zakat, and they bow down humbly.” [Surat Al-Maida: 55]

“But if they repent and establish regular prayers and pay Zakat, then [they are] your brethren in religion and we detail the verses for those who know.” [At-Tawbah: 11]
