A humanitarian initiative that ends the suffering of Asians who spent four years away from their families. The Dar Al Ber Society succeeded in collecting the full value of ‘legal blood money’, amounting to 200 thousand dirhams, thanks to the contributions and support of philanthropists, for two people who fell under the burden of the legitimate blood money, after they were held responsible for the death of a worker by mistake at the workplace, in a special humanitarian initiative, aimed at relieving their anguish and reuniting them with their family and children, after four years of separation and forced absence, which they spent away from their families. Youssef Al-Yateem, Head of the Projects sector at Dar Al Ber Society, said: The Society has made great efforts since it received the file of the two cases, as it began to study it and first make sure of the convicted persons' entitlement to assistance and support, then it worked to collect donations and material aid for their benefit, which culminated in success, by collecting the full value from the donations of philanthropists in the Emirates, to be distributed in both cases, in preparation for paying it on their behalf and handing it over to the competent authorities, and then to the victim's family, who have been decided by the competent court of blood money. For his part, Dr. Hisham Al-Zahrani, Director of the Zakat Department at the Society, said that the beneficiaries of the humanitarian initiative and those convicted are of an Asian nationality, and the Dar Al Ber initiative aimed to return them to their families in their countries, in light of their inability to travel for about four years, until the payment of the two debts, due to sentencing them to pay the legal blood money to the family of a worker, for causing his death by mistake in their workplace. Al-Zahrani affirmed the Society’s keenness to perform its humanitarian duties, charitable roles and community commitments, with all the poor, needy and afflicted, of all nationalities, in order to consolidate the values of our true religion, and an implementation of the country’s humanitarian policy and a live and direct activation of the directives of our wise leadership and the inherited value system for the people of the Emirates.
