In recognition of the significant efforts of its strategic partners and their pivotal role in supporting humanitarian and developmental projects, Dar Al Ber Society hosted its annual appreciation ceremony for strategic partners for the year 2024. The event took place on December 12 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Al Mankhool, Dubai, and witnessed a distinguished gathering of representatives from the public and private sectors as well as charitable organizations operating across the UAE.
Honoring Partners and Their Vital Role in Driving Positive Change
The ceremony honored 80 strategic partners, including governmental and private entities, for their generous contributions and support of numerous humanitarian projects carried out by Dar Al Ber Society within and beyond the UAE. These contributions had a profound impact on improving the lives of thousands of beneficiaries, whether through financial assistance or the provision of essential services in education, healthcare, and community development.
Dr. Mohammed Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of the Society, remarked, This event is an occasion to extend our gratitude to our partners, whose efforts have brought about transformative changes in the lives of many families. Their support has gone beyond financial aid to represent a meaningful step towards creating real change in the lives of individuals and communities, paving the way for a brighter future for those in dire need.
Dr. Al Muhairi emphasized that this recognition underscores the value of collaborative efforts and reaffirms that effective partnerships are the cornerstone of success in achieving humanitarian goals. He added that humanitarian work is not merely about completing tasks; it is an investment in the future, fostering sustainable environments that ensure dignity and prosperity for vulnerable communities.
Humanitarian Work: A True Investment for a Better Future
Dr. Al Muhairi further highlighted that Dar Al Ber Society heavily relies on strategic partnerships to enhance its humanitarian initiatives and broaden its positive impact. He stressed that humanitarian work constitutes a long-term investment, benefitting future generations and that the Society's success is not confined to immediate aid but extends to ensuring the sustainability of its efforts through enduring partnerships with local and international institutions.
He elaborated that effective partnerships in charitable work serve as the foundation for building a better world. These collaborations empower communities to meet their fundamental needs and foster sustainable development, ensuring the welfare of future generations.
Manarat Al Ber: An Integrated Development Model
During the ceremony, Mr. Tariq Al Ali, Senior Executive in the Projects Department, presented one of Dar Al Ber Society’s flagship projects, "Manarat Al Ber," also known as the "Seven-Component Endowment." This project embodies a strategic vision that merges sustainability with innovation to meet the needs of local and global communities in creative and enduring ways.
According to Mr. Al Ali, Manarat Al Ber is more than a fourteen-floor building; it symbolizes perpetual giving, hope, and continuous charity. Every two floors of this endowment carry a noble humanitarian message: two floors are dedicated to mosque maintenance to ensure their sustained vitality as centers of worship, another to securing clean water from wells to restore dignity and life, while another supports education, recognizing that building minds is key to building societies. Other floors provide medical care for those in critical need, meals for fasting individuals to promote solidarity and support for orphanages to restore hope for children. The final two floors are reserved for printing and distributing copies of the Holy Quran.
A Comprehensive Vision for Development: Enhancing Lives and Building a Sustainable Society
Dr. Mohammed Suhail Al Muhairi highlighted the pivotal role of this endowment in aligning with the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership, which prioritizes sustainability across various sectors, including charity work. He noted that the project paves the way for achieving the enduring impact the Society strives for, stating that the Society’s vision for 2025 focuses on strengthening partnerships that enable such initiatives, ensuring that every dirham spent becomes an investment in changing lives for the better. With the launch of this landmark project, we reaffirm our commitment to innovative, sustainable initiatives that meet community needs and align with the UAE's vision for charitable work.
Sustainable Giving in the Year of Sustainability
Under the slogan, "O seekers of good deeds, come forward, for your giving makes the world a better place," the annual ceremony, directed by Emirati creative producer Rowdha Ahmed Al-Sayegh from Rowdha SAY company, embodied the essence of sustainable giving during the UAE’s Year of Sustainability. The "wheat" was chosen as the event’s emblem, symbolizing growth and continuous giving. It represents the planting of seeds of good deeds that flourish and thrive over time.
This emblem was linked to sustainability, as Dar Al Ber Society ensured that multiple aspects of the event were environmentally sustainable and reusable. From the invitations to the commemorative gifts, plantable seed kits containing soil, water, and seeds were given to guests, each symbolizing the concept of shared growth and a collective commitment to environmental stewardship. This resonated with the spirit of the Year of Sustainability.
Al-Sayegh commented, Giving is like a seed; when nurtured and cared for, it allows the world to grow in beauty. Thus, we celebrate not just acts of charity but the sustainable future these acts cultivate.
A Bright Future: Expanding Humanitarian Partnerships
At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Al Muhairi invited all institutions, across both the public and private sectors, to continue supporting the Society's future projects. He emphasized that humanitarian partnerships are the key to achieving sustainable transformation in communities.
We believe that every genuine partnership represents a step towards a better world, where hope is planted in the hearts of those who need it most, and a future of goodness and social justice is built, he stated.
Dr. Al Muhairi expressed profound appreciation for the indispensable role of strategic partners in realizing this vision and stressed the importance of sustained collaboration to enable the Society to provide effective support to local and international communities in overcoming humanitarian challenges.
