Dar Al Ber Spends AED 184.9 Million to Strengthen Sustainable Charity Work in the First Half of the Year

Dar Al Ber Society has announced that it spent AED 184,937,953 during the first half of 2024 on charitable work, humanitarian initiatives, and sustainable development projects in the UAE and 34 countries worldwide, benefiting 4,229,588 people. This effort is part of the Society's ongoing mission to expand the scope of its projects and the number of beneficiaries of its humanitarian services, aiming to improve the lives of individuals and communities through various programs designed to promote social solidarity and achieve sustainable development in society.
Local Charity Work
Dar Al Ber Society highlighted that it allocated a budget of AED 61,251,833 for charitable and humanitarian projects within the UAE. This reflects the Society's strong commitment to national charity work and its focus on assisting those in need, both UAE nationals and residents. The budget supported vital and strategic sectors and services, including education, housing, and medical treatment for low-income patients, along with other diverse forms of assistance, to ensure the sustainability of the vital sectors in the UAE. A total of 710,786 citizens and residents in need benefitted from these services.
12 Areas of Charity Abroad
Dr. Mohammed Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber, explained that the Society's budget and expenditures in the first six months of this year covered 12 vital areas with a total amount of AED 93,073,808. These areas include mosque construction, water provision, support for productive families' projects, charitable endowments, medical services, relief support, aid for various humanitarian cases, Iftar for fasting individuals during Ramadan, the collection and distribution of Zakat Al-Fitr in accordance with Sharia rules, as well as a special fund for humanitarian initiatives, the collection and distribution of sacrificial meat, and the "Feeding the Food" project. These initiatives benefitted 4.2 million people worldwide.
Orphan Projects Inside and Outside the Country
According to data from January to June 2024, the Society's expenses for orphans amounted to AED 30,612,312. These funds supported projects such as "Orphans' Eid Gifts," sponsorship of orphans' families, orphan sponsorships inside and outside the country, and the support and operation of orphanages. Notably, the pioneering project "Teach Me How to Earn My Living" was part of these efforts. It is worth mentioning that Dar Al Ber sponsors over 43,000 orphans and strives to provide them with essential health and educational needs, contributing to their upbringing and guiding them towards a better future that will happen with the donors' support.

Dar Al Ber Society announced that the number of approved agencies it works with has reached 49 specialized bodies. The countries where the Society operates and implements its humanitarian projects and charitable initiatives span across three continents: Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Dr. Mohammed Suhail Al Muhairi, CEO and Managing Director of Dar Al Ber, stated that the Society follows the UAE’s policies, vision, and leadership directives in its charitable projects, humanitarian initiatives, and developmental endeavours, working to establish sustainability across various fields, including charitable and humanitarian work in addition to reinforces the UAE's message in the humanitarian sector and supports its position on the global relief map, reflecting the humanitarian image of the Emirati people and the values of our nation.
Commitment and Cooperation
Dr. Al Muhairi emphasized that Dar Al Ber Society continues to fully adhere to the UAE's policies and the wise leadership’s directives in the charitable and humanitarian sectors, both locally and globally, working closely with UAE embassies in the countries where it operates. The Society remains committed to the values of social responsibility in its national charitable work.
Governance and Trust
The CEO of Dar Al Ber highlighted that the Society adheres to the highest standards of governance in its financial policies, administrative and organizational performance, and during its charitable, humanitarian, and social campaigns. This is done in close cooperation and coordination with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, to ensure that donations and charitable contributions reach their rightful recipients. This enhances the strong trust between the Society and its donors, as well as the beneficiaries of its services, including the poor, needy, and low-income individuals, thereby achieving the objectives of charitable work.

Dr. Mohammed Suhail Al Muhairi expressed deep gratitude to Dar Al Ber's donors for their generous support and immense trust, affirming that their donations and charitable contributions have been instrumental in achieving numerous accomplishments that have helped improve the lives of many individuals and families within the country and in developing communities. Due to their generosity, the Society persistently extends support and care to those in need. He concluded by saying,
